How The 2017 Color of The Year Can Transform Any Room
You might have heard what the new color of the year is, but figuring out how the 2017 color of the year can transform any room is what we’re here to explore.
If you haven’t heard what the 2017 color of the year is then we’ll tell you! Pantone’s 2017 color of the year is Greenery. Now let’s explore how this color can transform any room in your home!
How The 2017 Color of The Year Can Transform Your Living Room
Your living room is probably one of the rooms in your home that you spend most of your time in. Whether you live alone and like to curl up on the couch and watch Netflix or you’re a parent who likes to sit on the couch and watch your children play, a living room should be a place where you’re able to relax.
According to Pantone, “Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate” and by bringing this new color into your living room it’s able to calm the mind without you even knowing.
Interior designers across the world are incorporating this color in many ways, but designer Gideon Mendelson, took Greenery to a whole new level with the above room. He says, “often the initial reaction is that it’s dark, maybe even a little dingy. But don’t underestimate it!” Greenery is not only the wall color, but he incorporates it into the throw pillows and even one of the side chairs.

Although Mendelson took Greenery to a whole new level in the living room, other designers have taken the minimalist approach and we think it looks fantastic!
Incorporating Greenery as the color of the upholstered bar stools, and keeping everything else white, makes the room seem clean and fresh. Subtle goes along way when it comes to incorporating any color in the kitchen.
You can even continue the Greenery into center pieces and counter decor. A decorative glass jar filled with Granny Smith apples is one of our favorites!
How The 2017 Color of The Year Can Transform Your Bedroom
Like the kitchen, when it comes to Greenery many designers are raving about using this color as an accent in bedrooms.
Interior designer, Kevin O’Gara mentions this color, “can balance such a bright hue with predominant use of white.” No matter what hue you’re after, Greenery pairs well with white and Williams Sonoma’s staging of their duvet cover and shams can make you believe it!
How The 2017 Color of The Year Can Transform Your Bathroom
Now that we’ve discovered more about Greenery why not bring actual greenery indoors!
Most often, the bathroom is one of the smallest rooms in your home, so wanting to add live greenery to your bathroom may be a challenge when you’re strapped for space. If that’s the case, hang them up! Not enough light in your bathroom? Find plants that don’t require much light, such as bamboo or moss. Bringing greenery indoors can help you oxygenate such a small space.
